I purchased this MIM Telecaster in 1994 and on the headstock the decal reads Fender Telecaster "Squire Series." Is the guitar a Fender or a Squire? Serial: MN402525

Anybody know? Thanks
deke

Once again on this subject, I disagree with st52

It is a Fender, as the label says - the company's decision should be respected. On the quality level, the "Squier series" is on par with the "regular" MIM's of the same era.

Thanks you guys. I think the speculation of "random" US parts is a correct one. The tele I'm talking about here is painted Torino Red so it's hard to tell what the body material is from looking at it. But, it's heavy! It weighs as much as a LP Gold top so that leads me to Ash. And the maple neck is compound radius and as pretty as the day is long. I recently had a guitarsmith replace the top-load bridge with a through the body American Deluxe bridge with the six offset milled saddles and that sucker just sings!!!

I'll have to investigate the electronics next but they seem solid as well. I'll see if I can get some pix posted here as well.
