Hi, would like to know if is a real 2005 deluxe. I ask this is just because i'm not sure if is real or not, for me I think yes but not sure ...... and the hardcase is not the one I use to see for fender for this periode. I don't understand why he still not have the original hard case for a 2005. He want to trade is 2005 Americain deluxe telecaster for my 2011 americain standard stratocaster

The Tele looks as it should, IMHO - even that funny looking silver lettering is what it was in a 2005 Dlx. Is that the "Burnt Orange" color?
You can always contact Customer Relations with the serial number, for 2005 models they have the specs.

Won't say anything on the case based on those pics.

Oh, as a general remark: I haven't yet seen fakes with that kind of neck plate & heel - but someone probably has done those, too.

The guitar looks fine; I think that color is the "aged cherry burst" that they still use.

You are correct; the case is an aftermarket case. In 2005 it should have come with the black plastic guitar-shaped case with the Fender logo stamped on the lid. Those cases were notoriously hit-and-miss - I had one that was warped from day one that I replaced with one of Fender's aftermarket G&G cases. I suspect that the original Fender case was damaged or warped and was replaced by a generic tolex-style case.

Good looking Tele there - if it makes both of you happy, there's nothing wrong with that trade.

You got the real deal! Those are excellent also! The case does not look bad either. I have one of the hard shell crummy ones that came with my 2007 Deluxe Stratocaster. I feel you have a great guitar and case there.

It looks like an American Deluxe Telecaster with noiseless pickups and S1 switching made in 2005. The tone knob pulls out allowing single or double coil pickup sound. I own a 2007 and it's a great guitar. Enjoy!
