Hello everybody, hope you´re having a great time with your teles, I´m a new user thinkig of buying my 1st tele but there´s a wide variety to choose from :( so I came here with all you tele-masters hoping you can help me out to make my 1st time a nice one :D . So here goes my dream!!

I want fat, round, thick, creamy and powerful tone with good response in bass, I don´t like guitars that sounds too treble and weak . I know that teles are very versatile guitars, but I´m focus in playin´ Jazz, Blues, Classic Rock, Hard Rock and some funk, and getting my guitars to sound Like Led Zeppelin (I know Page used one from Led Zeppelin I to III) Pink Floyd (I think is possible to get from a tele a strat like tone) Deep Purple (Specially like "lazy" and "Highway star") Jimmy Hendrix...

I think an American vintage ´62 RI telecaster will suit my needs, but the American deluxe, the 52 RI model and the classic player baja telecaster makes me think again. I can not play any of them because the local music store only has standards and highway one´s so I´ll have to either make an special order or buy it on ebay...so I was wondering if you could help me out to choose the right one ... PLEASE !!!!!!

:D Thanks for taking some of your time reading it and Hope You can help me!!! CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing I can suggest is to try as many of the variations as you can and you'll find one that suits your needs. Also while some Strat sounds can be coerced from Teles, both sort of have their own sound. Most Tele single coil bridge pickups will have a copper plate under them, and they seem a bit brighter to me than Strats. Then the middle pickup on the Strat gives you 5 different pickup settings to choose from, as oppsed to the Teles 3 settings, and some of those strat settings give the Strat a sound that I have heard called quack. So Teles give you twang, Strats give you quack, and it may be difficult (unless you get a Nashville Tele, which is a Tele with a strat pickup configuration) to get some strat sounds out of a Tele, and to get some Tele sounds out of a Strat, so I think the best answer is to go out and try some (if possible) yourself. :)

that´s my little problem the guitars they have in store are not even near to the specs of the guitars I want but maybe you can help me with this... Which one of the 3 teles is gonna be more useful for the kind of music I play??Wich one is better in what way and why??? Maybe all I need is to hear some opinions about telecaster players because all this years I´ve been playing mainly through humbuckered guitars specially from gibson and it´s time to convert me into single coil player... SO if any of you guys have similars telecasters or this ones help me out !!!

Hello,
I used to be a humbucker guy, so I think I can relate to what you are looking for in a Tele. I switched from Ibanez to the Deluxe Nashville, which I love for the strat tones. I also love the Baja for postion 4, S-1 switch up. Full and rich. Sometimes I miss humbuckers. If I were to get a Tele to match what you are thinking about, I would go for a Special Edition Tele HH with the coil tap push/pull.
Hope I helped.

After driving for 2 hours I got to another music store end they had the amercan deluxe and the classic player baja plus a mexican nashville I played them all, nashville gave me a strat like tone while the player baja was a good guitar but the deluxe has it all!!! you get get the tele sound, a strat tone (it was difficult and not the same but it works) and a humbuckered... the action was smooth but at the same time powerful, great cleans and dirty sounds. You can get really cool jazzy sounds out of it, blues, rock ANYTHING!!! With S-1 switching system you can make it sound like an LP (not exactly the same but pretty darn close) and still have that fender vibe and a vintage tone also....and looks so good...this is my guitar :o finally!!! I´m really in love....

BTW the American Deluxe Ash Telecaster has the same features as the alder one???

sometimes quite a lot. i can't play a sabbath riff and not want that humbuckery warm crunch again.

Yeah there´s something about humbuckers that gives that crunchy-creamy distortion bu you should try a deluxe telecaster somehow it can give you that crunch tone with a fender vibe that you are gonna love...
