So I got my very first Tele that I absolutely LOVE. Stock pickup is Awesome, really great but I'm still curious to see what kind of monster it will be with a new pickup.

I have the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound in my Strat (bridge) and it's really heavy with great distortion. BUT I do think it lacks bottom and it's a bit thin compared to my SH-4 Jeff Beck humbucker and even compared to my stock Tele pickup.

Is the QP for strat basically the same pickup as QP for Tele? Will the Tele body make it sound fatter with more low end?

I play punk rock and want something in the ball park of a humbucker, still I'm a bit sick of humbuckers and want a little bit of single coil character left.

I was concidering the Hot Rails but maybe it's too much of a humbucker?

The other ones I had in mind for the Tele is Harmonic Design Super 90 and the Quarter Pounder.

Anyone care to give me some advice?

I do love the P90 in my Junior, I have humbuckers in my strats and a QP in my other strat that I think is ok, but nothing more.

One option might be the Lindy Fralin Tele Split Blade. I've not physically heard them myself but I have heard folks say they retain a lot of the spank and bite of a Tele pup. Might be worth looking into just out of curiosity.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
