Under the Stratocaster forum, there is a "Picture of Strat" thread. Having been on this message board awhile now, I noticed that there is not one for Telecasters.

I thought I would START one here:

This is "my slide guitar" - 2010 Fender Telecaster - Blacktop series with custom made tortoiseshell pickguard and Fender Blues Junior III amplifier

I bumped the Telecaster picture thread for you. It was way back on page 5.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

The skirted amp knobs give this guitar a Muddy Waters-inspired look!

Had two teles now, and they're not for me. The Blacktop is right up my street though. Fender neck and HBs. Of course, Fender don't make any left-handed HB guitars...

Drubbing - When I was shopping for another guitar with humbuckers, the shortlist included an Epiphone SG and this Blacktop Telecaster. I decided on the Fender because the neck fit my small hands, and the body was well-balanced at my waist (when sitting down). The other guitar had too many cons working against it.

Chromeface - the skirted amp knobs with reversed control assembly were unique features that I like which were not on any other Tele within my price range. Besides, they look COOL 8)

The black finish/tort guard/rosewood neck combo is one of the most popular clues for a Fender guitar or bass and a long-time favorite of LA artists such as Michael Landau and Dann Huff.

The stock black pickguard that came with this Tele just looked too dull for me. I had a hard time finding a tortoiseshell pickguard that would fit the two humbuckers of a Blacktop until I went to my local guitar store. It was a definite improvement !!!

You did an excellent job, my boy. Your guitar now looks much better.

In your place I would paint the headstock and possibly put matching-coloured hardware & plastic parts (excepting the pickguard) to fit the bill.

There is such a thread, it's just titled "let's take a look at your tele".

Here's the link. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=109

Thank you for the complement. I absolutely love the LOOK and FEEL of playing slide guitar licks on this Blacktop Tele
