Makes finding the jack with the cord a little easier.

And reduces the value of pristine guitars, due to extra screw holes.

I don't think anybody is suggesting one should install one on a pristine all original 1950 Esquire.

lol it's amazing how little it takes to start an argument. my telis are for playing more than collecting. that being said i would love a 1950's teli even with a few screw holes.

and T2 thank you for serving our country. my son and daughter in law are in the air force.

In a different thread you just said:
BMW-KTM wrote:
Any structural changes such as drilling holes or routing to change a cavity shape or any other mods which are irreversible should be completely avoided if you ever plan to sell the guitar as it basically renders the guitar almost unsellable. I personally would never buy any guitar that had been hacked up unless they were practically giving it away and I honestly felt the mod(s) were necessary and an improvement. I am not alone in that opinion.

And Electrosocket jack mounts do require drilling holes, which is an irreversible change. No matter what guitar it is - if it was formerly unmodified, it will lose value.

But then again, if not concerned with value loss, or if it's already an irreversibly modded guitar, sure, it is a better mount than the standard Tele mount, which I don't know who came up with and what he had been imbibing...

I don't disagree with that. I did say it after all ..... in the context of a semi-special guitar.
I did tell the guy to do as he chose.

The vast majority of Fender guitars sold today will never have much in the way of vintage resale value. On those multitudes of guitars I see no issue installing one of these. The OP does not mention a specific guitar.

Sometimes context is important in these things. Blanket statements are a rarely beneficial.
