Hi all

I am looking for a HH tele and have fallen in love with the sound of the 72 Tele Deluxe reissue (hate the sticky clumsy neck feel though), and also fallen in love with the neck feel, look and playability of the new American Standard with dual Humbuckersa and rosewood fretboard. So if I get the American Std HH, will the Re-issue's Wide HUnbuckers fit on there easily? Or is the hole size different etc.? What about the different wiring (72 deluxe has separate tone pots etc). Is this a big heal? I'd like to get the Deluxe sound on an Am. Standard body with its slimmer satin neck etc..

Thanks for any help

Regards from Switzerland
Rob

The 72 Deluxe Reissue does not have proper Widerange humbuckers, it os a normal humbucker in a widerange case.

The original widerange had CuNiFe slugs in them, whereas the modern ones don't and have a bar magnet on the bottom, like a conventional humbucker

The answer to your question is no the "widerange" humbucker inthe 72 will not fit.

You can put what ever humbuckers you like in the American standard, which you can't with the 72, inlcuding more authentic widerange replicas that are available in a conventional humbucker case from widers such as the Creamery in the UK.

@the sordid sentinel, Thank you for clarifying that for me, I appreciate it very much! I have stumbled upon Creamery's site during my research. Looking at the "Classic '71". Thank you for the recommendation!
