Just bought a Jade Pearl Metallic American Standard Telecaster and after adjusting the action to my preference I find that the Low E saddle adjustment screws stick out over the saddle and scratch my hand. Tried 2 different hardware stores who told me they didn't have that size and it wasn't a standard size grub screw. Does anyone know what size the saddle adjustment screws are on my Tele? I know I could grind the bottoms of them shorter, or shim the neck so I can raise the saddles back up, but I would prefer some shorter screws. Thanks for any help you have to give.

The saddle screws come in two heights. Normally, the 1st string saddle will have short screws, but if set up by someone not knowing this, the saddles might have been swapped around so you have long screws on the first string. Or someone might have taken screws or saddles from an American Vintage Tele bridge, which have longer screws than on the American Standard.

Replacement screws can be bought from Fender.

Well most of those screws on the Fender site are 4-40 which both hardware guys told me my screws most definitely were not. They also said they were not 3mm. Neither had any idea what size/thread they were. Second man said he believed it was 4-56 or some odd thread he didn't have. I don't want to buy new screws and they not fit. I would just as soon buy 6 new saddles and change them out.

I suppose since I bought the guitar used the saddles could have been switched. But I don't think so.

Make sure your neck relief is set to specs before you start grinding any height adjustment screws.

Your fender dealer should have the screws you need and they are very inexpensive.
