If one of you fine gentlemen or ladies could do me a small favor. If you have a Telecaster with the bridge cover, could you measure how wide the bridge actually is? I bought one of the new Squier Telecaster basses and think the cover would look great on it.

I hate to buy one and have it not fit.

Thanks in advance.

How would you fasten it without the bridge plate it clips on to?
And even if you plan to design and make your own fastening mechanism, the question you should ask is how tall it is.

Google would easily give the info: Tele Bridge Dimensions

But like arth1 said, the Tele ashtray won't fit (to be honest, many of them won't fit a Tele if you don't bend them a little on the sides... )

There are of course options: Fender Plates and Metal Covers

I figured It would hold on the bottom, and a little ingenuity may be involved. I just tried a Jazz cover and it just covered the bridge pickup.

Thanks for your time, I appreciate it.

Thanks for you time. I appreciate the reply, as I mentioned to arth1, I tried a Jazz cover on it and it fit and covered the bridge pickup. Being that this is a completely unique bass, I may go with the Jazz cover.

I've got a bridge cover on my Tele. The cover pushes onto the raised outside flanges on the Vintage Tele bridges only. If you have a Tele with a flat modern bridge it won't attach. The same would go for the bridge on your bass. It hasn't got a raised flange so has nothing to push on to. Also, I would think the saddles would be too high as well.
hth,
Mark
