I'm looking to help my nephew replace the black hardware on his Squier Bullet HS Tele with chrome. I'm a bit confused as to what bridge and tuners we need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi mate

It can be tough, your standard tuners should slot in no problem, you may need to drill a small guide hole to get the screws in if they differ from the existing guide holes.

The bridge is another issue. That guy is a cheap "4-screws-in-the-corner" bridge. Most of that style (the style of not surrounding the pickup) have 3 or 4 screws hidden under the bridge saddles. This is more of a "Stratocaster Hardtail Bridge" if you want to search for it online. If you can find a cheap chrome one with 4 screws to replace the black one go for it, or if you upgrade with better hardware (like a gotoh or callaham) then you may have to drill some holes for the mounting screws, but the string holes should line up.

Heres a cheap one

And heres an expensive one

Have a look at the dimensions mentioned on the ads and you should be able to find which ones suits you better.

Entirely up to you want you spend on these. I would always spend a little more on tuners. You may be thinking that you don't want to spend too much on a squire but being in tune (no matter if the guitar is made of plywood or not) is always preferable.
