Trying to find information on my second hand Tele, Ser.# N3941238 made in USA. Is this an American Standard or other. Thank you for what ever info you can give me.

Wabcan - how about some photos? A 1993 Fender could have 6 digits after the "N3" part of the serial number but it seems to me that serial numbers with 5 digits after the "N3" part were more common.

Assuming everything is correct that kind of serial number would have been found on only 3 models in 1993 - the American Standard Tele, the Tele Plus, and the Tele Plus Deluxe. Of course the Tele Plus would have Lace Sensor pickups (neck single and 2 in the bridge position as a humbucker) and the Tele Plus Deluxe would have the Lace Sensors and a tremolo.

Amazingly enough, this one tracks.
Serial number tracks to an Am Std Tele MN BSB Fender Part number 010-8402-732
completed 7/24/93 and shipped to Canada. So....if its brown sunburst with a Maple fingerboard, thats a good start.
Cheers,
rob

This guitar uses a TBX tone pot and an AlNiCo V bridge pickup with flush poles, very common for an American Tele made in 1993.

The change to the Delta Tone pickup system occurred in 1997.
