I have small hands/short fingers and own a Telecaster ... specifically a 2010 Fender Telecaster - Blacktop series. The neck shape of the Blacktop Tele is a "Modern C" which I absolutely love. The neck finish is a gloss urethane which for me is just okay.

Both the Stratocaster and Telecaster were designed ergonomically with comfort in mind such as the back scoop and body balanced at the waist (when the player is sitting down)

I have played other guitars at local music stores (such as Les Pauls, SGs, MusicMans) but they always seemed awkward for me. So I keep coming back to Fender.

Definitely an ergonomically challenged issue. Each of the 5 Strats in my stable fits a specific niche, but I wish they all had Clapton necks.

Still have the jacket. My "Blackie'' was swapped out for another about 10 years ago. There's a photo around somewhere of me playing it, but I don't have the original.

Bonnie's namesake signature guitar had a narrower C profile catering for girlie Strat players having short fingers. Discontinued in 2000.

An attractive finish but a marketing loser for sure. FMIC would have done better with a 'snapshot' of her stage guitar and sold them to both girl and guy players. The lady guitarists of my memory across the past half century or more, who played Fender guitars, appeared to have been playing on 'guy' necks. Others coming to mind like Ford, Batten, Orianthi, to name three, appear to be doing OK in that department as well.

The Dakota Red Telecaster EC used during his Yardbirds days has a fairly thin C profile which was really not his cup of tea.

But it's not the first we seen him playing a Telecaster; he used to play a butterscotch blackguard '52 during the Escondido sessions in 2006.

Of my 5 Teles and 3 Strats, the one neck which stands out and is incredibly comfortableis my 50s Road Worn tele. That neck feels like ti was made for my hand! The next one which stands out is the soft V on my 60th Anniversary Classic Player 50s Strat. Man talk about butter!!!
ABS :D

Satin finish.

.....forgot to add this: .....the neck carve is the shape I have referenced to over the years as Fender's generic soft V...
Hope this finds all well with you and your lady. Have a great Thanksgiving. 8)
