I have a factory 2nd body that I believe to be Fender. It does not have the number stamp inside the neck pocket but it does have bar-code stickers inside the pickup cavities. It has a 5th hole for micro-tilt which leads me to believe it is an American Standard. Also the p/up configuration leads me to believe this as well. I think it has been sitting in the sun for a while and has split at the butt. It will need some filler. The sides are extremely rough and the edges are sharp. How can I fix this?

By sanding .

Keep the dust and mix with white carpenter glue to use as filler . It will look original.

Thanks. I'll keep everyone posted. I have a lot on my hands right now with my 7 Fender projects... 4/5 Gibsons and 3 Gretsch guitars that need doing. Maybe I'll start posting on the Gretsch Forums too! Thanks. I guess I can sand the edges by hand... maybe with 80 grit or something.
