Thanks for all the info..seller turned out to be one of them Craigslist flakes so no deal could be made.i wish I could afford to buy new and avoid dealing with idiots. :?

Look at ebay from time to time. We scored a great barely used 2008 American Standard Tele for the price of a MIM.

Yes, I think that's smart. We just got lucky with the price so I took the chance and it paid off.

This week I swapped out the stock American Standard bridge it came with for a modified Fender "classic" 3 saddle bridge and it worked out very nicely. I find that it sounds better and can hear much more distinction between the neck pickup and the bridge pickup. So glad I did it!
