Hello,
I was just wondering if there are any issues to be aware of with a Tele that has 3 barrel saddles. I am on the verge of acquiring a Highway One Texas and was curious about anything that may come with it opposed to a 6 saddled Tele.

You can't get "perfect" intonation with those. But if you replace them with something like these "tilted" saddles:

http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Electric_guitar,_non-trem_bridge_parts/Compensated_Telecaster_Bridge_Saddles.html

you can get your intonation much closer on all strings.

I've got a set on a mid-'90s MIJ Telecaster ... and they work for me.

They look nicely vintage too.

i put the vintage saddles with BRASS barrels on mine if possibel, it gives added sustain and yeh the moders 6 saddle bridge can be dialed in a little better, but if you find a good tech most, including me, cant tell the difference!!!

check out www.glendalguitars.com I have one on one of my tele's and it is the best bridge i have ever put on a guitar!!

alright, i just purchased a baja tele with the 3 saddles. the intonation is probably as close to perfect as i can get it, but the damn thing won't stay in tune for more than a couple of minutes. is that the saddle or is there something else going on? i've changed strings. i'm frustrated and about to return it. help.

Make sure you've stretched those new string out. Congrats on the Baja.

i've been playing on it all day long on new strings, and it's slowly getting better. i'll be taking it in monday morning. probably going to chalk it up to new guitar getting used to syndrome.

what guage strings you using? I have always found that little strings take a while to get good and stretced. I put new strings on one of my teles a week ago, and played an out door gig this weekend, in Texas heat, and i had tuning issues the whole first set.

IMHExpieance slinkys really stretch alot; I tried them once and never went back. It was pretty annoying. How do you secure the string to the tuning machine? Look up "how to re-string a guitar" on the net. there is some good things there.

I've got Kluson style tuning machines. There are no issues there.

Like with the hole in the slot? yep mine don't slip with that style either; so maybe it's the strings I mean as you said they are staying in tune better now...
