Hey guys! I have been looking at purchasing another telecaster recently. I currently own an American Tele which is about 4 years old. Can anyone make some suggestions for some other tele models out there? I really dont have much knowledge in terms of what is actually available to me in terms of other telecaster models. Thanks for your help guys!

I have heard nothing but great things about the '52 reissue. I guess it depends on the amount of scratch you want to drop. Also check out the Nocaster.

the nocaster looked really interesting to me.. what is the difference between the nocaster and a regular tele? the lack of a neck pup?

i have really been interested in the Fender Showmaster. Personally i have been a fan of the "superstrat" guitar designs like the Ibanez RG and this guitar seems to appeal to me

You have got to check out the Special Edition Lite Ash Telecaster
It's got a Birdseye Maple neck, Seymour Duncan Alnico Pros for pickups,
Vintage Bridge setup (P/N 0265102521)

What a sweet piece. It's not an American made piece but it's still good
Match it up with a Deluxe Reverb and you've got a nice setup

The '52 Re-Issue is awesome, as is the NEW Highway One Tele... Both are killer instruments! I prefer the latter simply because of the fee - just my $.02.

I'm a huge believer in the Baja Tele.

The pickups sound great, and with the 4 way switch and the S1 allowing phase switching it gives you that many more options.

It really doesn't hurt that it also has the neck of the gods.

The nocaster was originally gonna be called the Broadcaster but Gretsch owned the name, so Fender sold them with no name hence the nocaster. It is the original telecaster.

You have a lot of options within your price range. The MIM selections are fine guitars and they leave enough money left over for mods! Fortunately you have a lot of good tele choices. Good luck and most importantly have fun with the selection process!
