I'm not going to throw any money at this one but what is it exactly? Certainly the backstory doesn't check out (some unnamed "master Fender luthier", yeah right) but the guitar looks to be a Squier model that's been hacked down.

"No fret wear" ... but the fingerboard laquer is chewed up, probably artificially to make it look older than it is. And the neck pickup is mounted to the pickguard instead of into the wood, that's a far more modern feature.

Well if someone likes a heavy "relic" like that then it is their choice. However the whole back story of an ex "Fender Luthier" and using the "same wood" as Fender sounds like a crock of poo poo. And wouldn't a "Master Builder" know that a "54" relic is not supposed to have a skunk stripe neck? And no mention of the pups or electronics. Most likely it is just generic replacement parts built and reliced by a decent craftsman going for that look but might be under $200 invested in the entire build.

As far as the fretboard wear...yes, they can certainly put that there during the relicing process making a newer neck seem very old and worn in.

The bridge however is correct vintage so there is a chance the electronics as well might be 70s as he stated but without pics of parts from inside it could all be garbage.

Not true.
Skunk stripes definitely in use by '54 on both Teles and Strats, and no doubt P basses too.

Whoops my bad, had the wrong info. Guess that is why I am not a master builder. I would have researched it more if I was considering purchasing it though but the back story seems way too far fetched.

Some people think that others will believe anything they read. I've seen this lots in the movie prop-collecting world, too.

At that money, it's nowhere near a CS let alone a Masterbuilt. Ads gone now.
