sorry, everyone i was out of town and couldnt get very get internet ....here is the answer to what everyone has been wanting to know .....what did i pay for it? let's put it this way. for the price i paid for a 1963 Fender Telecaster i couldnt have bought even HALF of a tall starbucks double chocolate chip frapp which is $4.95 ....the guitar was $2.50 ...YES i said $2.50. I had less than $20 to my name when i bought it. so if it would have been $25 i may not have owned it. and ...... when i sell this guitar the guy i bought it from will get a nice little envelope of cash. i think he was more poor than me. you can never have too many good Karma points :)
I am actually a drummer so when i rolled up to this garage sale at 12:00 noon ( yes, this guitar was still sitting at a garage sale at noon for $2.50 ) i saw the guitar and thought "oh a beat up guitar". since it looked old i thought ill see what he wants, even if it doesnt work it would look cool on a wall". he said is was $2.50

anyway thats the story. I am an antique dealer so i am out a lot looking for cool stuff. not the first time i have came a across a good deal. i once paid $1.00 for a mid 1830s bowie knife which i sold on ebay in 2003 for $12,658.00

i have nothing to gain by making up a story. I see a few people think im making it up. If i am going to lie and make up a story its going to be a lot more exciting than finding a guitar at a garage sale. It would be probably be me discovering a new limitless energy source the same day as winning the largest lottery and then finding hitler's lost warehouse of stolen WWII art on the way home from picking up my lottery winnings. With all my money i build a time machine and go hangout at the whisky in LA with Jim morrison and we both go back a few years and party with Bettie Page.

I for one have no reason not to believe you. It did however make some of us suspicious when you did not reply for a while. I recently got a 1969 Gibson SG for free. Granted the neck needs to be set neither me or the guy was aware this was a legit vintage Gibson from the 60's. It is not quite the score of a 63 Tele but the model SG this is can be typically found on eBay in the $5,000+ range. So yes, I know these things happen.

With the 63 Tele you scored most likely whoever was the original owner passed away and it just sat somewhere in a garage or something and to the average person would just look like an old beat up piece of junk worth a few bucks. With my Gibson I actually only wanted the neck and thought the body was some kind of home made junk but the guy insisted I take it or throw it out. Good thing I didn't because a little research verified it was the real deal.

Hi, unwinded
I'm sure we all would love to see a lot of more pictures of the guitar.
Big, detailed, in every angle, close-ups etc; and especially the gut shots should you take it apart sometime...

Too late, that is was the last deal on earth.

How many hours on garage sales you must spend to find a deal like that ?
You pay gas , use car and you'll buy some junk you don't need .....

Better to find a part job and buy a $10K guitar with this money.

No such luck for me, last garage sale I picked up a MIM for $150, okay deal that's about it. People seem to know their prices. Best deal I ever got was from CL, some guy had a DeArmond R5T for $150, was a 1959, mint condish too, maybe worth about 2k.
