Picked it up second hand and my guitar teacher pointed out the 3 pick ups and I haven't found anything similar online. So any help appreciated :)

There must be a country of origin and serial number somewhere on the guitar.

Looks like a 'Partscaster', with the phase switch at the top of the Control Plate it certainly isn't a Deluxe Nashville Tele.

cheers!

Looks like a "Blackout" Tele to me - an MIM model that lasted a couple of years; they were out probably in the 2009-2011 time frame.

Here's an info page archived on Sweetwater Sound's site:

1+ to John C,

Its a Blackout Telecaster Deluxe, 5 way strat like switch, mexican made. MIM "Vintage Style Tele" pickups in it. Its a great guitar and gives you the strat quack tones rather than the middle position jangle / funk tones you get out of a normal tele. Great addition to anyones collection.

You can usually tell a Mexi a mile away (well the neck at least) by the truss rod hole on the headstock which the shape and color is unique to the MIM's unless it is some kind of vintage reissue or signature series. Of course the serial number is a help since it will start with an "M" but might not always identify the specific model unless you asked someone at Fender.

As far as the rest it took a simple google search of "3 pickup tele" and when a Blackout came up which looks identical to the posters guitar it was a good clue that this is indeed an MIM Blackout unless someone made their own that looks identical to a real one.
