I wanted one of these for the last decade! I started on Tele's 41 years ago and when I bought my 85 MIJ 62 Reissue I had to put it on steroids so I had medium jumbo frets put on- changed the pups in 91 with D'imarzzio Fast Track 1's- and changed the steel threaded saddles with Brass Barrels and would blow guys minds as they couldn't believe the tone coming out of a Tele that could run the Classic Rock alphabet from AC/DC to Zep.I then saw players years later like John-5- Kotzen-and Jim Root see what a east a Tele could be.

See how you learn something new everyday? When it was announced these were finally being released here in the US I also thought that they were being US made. Not that it matters as I own 30 guitars and 28 are US builds except my 85 MIJ 62 reissue and an early 90's 72 reissue MIJ Thinline that smokes. I had one more 80's MIJ Tele that I gifted a nephew who loved it for his birthday two years ago.

Back in 85 when Bill Schultz and some employees bought back Fender from CBS no factory was included though Fender Japan which opened in 82 was part of the deal. So until Corona was finished for about two years over 80% of all Fenders were exported from Japan who make some incredible models. They made them so good that when Corona got up and running they stopped Fender Japan from exporting to the US.

So when I wanted a Kotzen Tele (I wish they also offered the green finish) I was this close from buying one on Ebay for $1,900 and there was also $150 shipping and I held back. I have not posted on the forum in over three years and am sick to see Mike Eldred has left as Mike was a good internet friend who has told me some wild stories. But I had sent him a PM asking him if Kotzens personal Tele's were built in the US CS or in Japan and he told me Japan. So that is basically what Ritchie plays and when they first came out it boggled my mind they were $1,400 though I see they bumped them up $100. Just a smoking axe and congrats to everyone who has one already. But I will be joining you guys very soon! Does anyone know the exact measurement of the neck?
