I have a relic tele that I honestly don't know a lot about except that the story I got for the guy that gave it to me. The guitar was his sons and there was a post-it he left in the case saying it’s a 56 reissue body and a 52 reissue relic neck. I haven’t had it apart but thinking it should be all USA parts? The note in the case has highway one body, 52 neck, vintage parts, Semore Duncan pickups possibly Texas special. I know it's not a custom shop because the neck plate isn't stamped but the guy that set it up for me last said there are some guitar shops that specialize in relicing and it could have been done by one of them. He said it definitely looks like a professional job and when he first saw it he initially thought it was an original 56. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and or a value? It sounds and feels great just not sure what I got.... http://s1368.photobucket.com/user/fende ... 1.jpg.html

I don't think that Fender Custom Shop use Higway 1 body . I don't think so they mix year like your 56 body and 52 neck .

You dont have 52 neck , truss rod should be at body side not peg head

IMO you may have to remove neck an look ont the neck/ body pocket.

Better photos may help , peg head is very poor , need to see body / neck back plate , peg head ; front and rear .......

Look not a Fender made relic to me

The value ?

I'am wrong ,Truss rod is at the body like a old Fender

Pickgard is wrong
No serial number .
Unknow pickups model , are they Seymour Duncan ?
Unknow body.
Unknow neck

If you don't have any proof of the origin of the parts and no better photos ( see my first answer ) this guitar do not worth more than $400 .
More than that you pay for relic

The problem is that all you have to go on here is that note, which is hard to trust.
The color of the neck is right for a 52 reissue but you have to take it off to see the manufacture date. You can also check the radius and the frets, it could be a hotrod 52 neck.
You have to take it apart and send the info you find to fender to check it out.
About the value I don't know much but parts casters don't reflect the value of the parts as much as we would like.
If the guitar is a great player than just be happy you own it and forget about the value, that's my policy with my two partsters.

The color may be correct for the neck but that looks like a home made relic job on the fret board. Step away from the dremel tool.

The body looks to be a home made relic job too. Only the master- builds look that ugly. :( :P

I think your friends son may have done his own attempt to make a relic looking guitar. Not a
professional job.

If you got it for nothing thats good. At the end of the day you have a parts-caster. It may be worth a few hundred bucks.
