I purchased a telecaster from eBay which is 'mostly fender' and the bridge is 3 saddle. The intonation was poor so I tried to correct it but the middle screw for the D and G strings does not move the saddle. The screw moves in and out but the saddle remains stationary.
If someone could help me diagnose the problem, I would be most grateful.
Thanks.

Screw is not rocket science ; if screw turn and nothing happened , screw or sadles are damaged

1- Slack your string

2- Look if your screw move saddles

a - if yes , put the saddle where you want and thightened your string , check intonnation . If not ok go to 1 .......

b- If no , you need a new screw or / and new saddle , ask refund from the seller

3- Sometimes you need to cut the spring on the screw if you need to go back

Before doing intonnation your neck must have proper neck bow

Easy to do intonnation if saddles are "full" back , longer string . just unscrew and sadlles will move easely

It wouldn't be too costly to buy a new set of saddles-that would make future setting of the intonation so much easier. If you prefer not to go that route, just check with your local Fender dealer as they usually have all kinds of replacement parts like screws, bridge saddles etc. for sale and if not you can be pretty well sure that their tech has plenty on hand in his repair shop.It sounds like either the screw or saddle is stripped,so a trip to the dealer could save you a lot of aggravation trying to fix things as they are.
