I got rid of the MIM standard bridge and installed a proper Brass barrel Fender one.
A new power house under the hood ((( Texas Specials ))) the custom shop version.
I was surprised at just how good the ceramic original pickups sounded to be honest, The T/S do add some growl and complexity to the notes.

Here she is in her original state of being

Very jealous! I'm a sucker for Surf Green and matching headstocks. Cracking early present!

I think adding that aged (the hard way) pickguard and the vintage style bridge puts it over the top in looks, never have liked the Standard Tele bridges and bright white pickguards are not my thing either.

I played till my fingers and joints ached today !!!! I love it !

I went with the .020uf Mylar NOS Sprague and it opened up the sound of that Tele !!
I did the alligator clip leads thing and tried around five types and ranges, the Mylar sounded the best and gave my tone pot the best range.

Now, what was weird was what I found in there as the original tone capacitor
a tiny ceramic .050uf ( see dime in picture for size comparison )

The CS Texas special, the bridge and the cap have made this Tele a very sweet sounding guitar !

I like when the shoes match the dress, nice gift.

Fun to experiment with caps, whenever I pop the hood I always take the opportunity to play around with caps I have laying around the house. Sometimes you get a nice surprise.

I had to mount that big old capacitor at an angle between the pots, The difference in the tone was amazing !

I spent around an hour going through a box of caps and found the sprauge to have the best of both worlds, open and yet warm, win, win
