Hi at all,

I'm a new member here....and the english language is not my native language. Sorry for that.
I bought a used "Telecaster Highway one", which was made, so the seller describes it, in the year 2004.
How can I check, that the Telecaster is a real one? Meanwhile I've seen at a lot of head plates by telecaster guitars. At the backside I could see the lettering "Made in U.S.A." under the serial number, which begins with a "Z".
I'm missing this at my guitar. There is only the serial number, which begin with a "Z" too.
When I checked the serial, than I became the following Information:
Guitar Info
Your guitar was made at the
Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 2004 - 2005
Is it possible for e.g., that this series was made without the lettering "Made in U.S.A."?
Are there some more opportunities, to make sure, that this guitar isn't "made by the chinese"?
Thanks for your help.

Nobbi

My Hwy One Texas Tele has Fender Telecaster on the front of the headstock. On the back it has the Z serial number and Made in the USA in small letters under the serial number. :D

pictures working ; You can check yourself if you clic on .

Look to be a 2004 Fender . Z4 ...with 6 digit is 2004

Look a original Highway One if you look at 2004 Fender Frontline catalog . Made in USA is just under "Fender " . I did not see the back in the catalog. No reason to write another " made in USA" on the back .

Nothing to worry about.

I have a 2005 Standard tele and the headstock looks exactly the same, except mine is a maple neck, and I'm pretty sure it isn't a fake.

I'm sure somebody on this forum who's more experienced will tell us what's going on.

I would like to thank all the specialists here......Merci bien......
It's a big difference, whether you are playing guitar your whole life, or you have a break of nearly 25 years (like me) without playing......and contact to the scene.....
So......now I'm waiting for the postmen and ..... of course......for the telecaster.....

Regards Nobbi
