Hello all. I'm new to this forum so hopefully I'm not posting in the wrong forum. I have a 50s classic vibe strat that I absolutely love. I'm currently in the process of picking parts to build a parts caster tele but I have never ordered a neck on its own before. I absolutely love the feel of my classic vibes neck. It's a maple neck with that nice vintage gloss, and the way it fits my hand just feels right, it's not big and bulky like my les Paul's neck. I want the same size and vintage look to go on this tele. And I hear super good things about allparts necks. But I'm so lost with getting the correct size. I know it has medium jumbo frets. I'd personally like to stay around $200, so that may not be possible at allparts. Could you guys shed some light on this? Thanks

Why do you want to replace the neck? If you love it, fixing it might be a better option than anything you can get for $200.

$200 <----that's going to be tough.

Try Reverb.com/Craigslist and FB Classifeids.

To be honest: I'd prefer to go with a Warmoth neck, if it must be a new replacement neck, licensed by Fender.

You can choose from many options.
For the feel of the neck, you need to know the profile/shape of your favorite neck and which frets you use. That's all.

Everything else is either optical or tone related but doesn't change the feel, unless you want a certain finish on the back.

Option #2: get a used neck from the same guitar model or buy the same guitar and sell the loaded body. You would end up with a Tele with strat neck, though, which might not be what you want.
I personally wouldn't care. In fact, I like the look of the strat headstock better than that of a tele but that's simply personal taste.

Spike,

Welcome to the forum.
The only specs I could find for a classic 50s vibe strat were these:

http://www.fender.com/squier/series/classic-vibe/classic-vibe-stratocaster-50s-maple-fingerboard-white-blonde-with-gold-hardware/

Have you considered this option:

http://www.fender.com/store/tele-necks/telecaster-neck-21-medium-jumbo-frets-maple-fingerboard/

These are the same specs, with the only difference being a satin finish on the back of the neck instead of gloss. Fingerboard is gloss. It does meet your $200 price point, though. Doesn't include tuners or a string tree apparently.

Hope this helps,
vinyl
