I seriously doubt that is true.

Not only is it true but he pretty much was there at the start of the relic movement.

I doubt it will happen, because Fender normally require brand exclusivity, and I can see no way that Keef will give up playing all his non-Fender guitars.

Eric Johnson plays Gibsons whenever he needs, and that's not been been an obstacle to him having a Fender signature model.
Same with Eric Clapton.

So why no Keef signature model?

The first link you posted there makes no mention of replicas.

The second link is Wikipedia which can be edited by anyone and makes no mention of which specific guitars. I've read that Custom Shop story but the way I've always heard it is that they gifted him a few brand new guitars they made but he didn't like them because they looked too new, and then that gave the CS the idea for the relics. I have never seen in mentioned anywhere that the CS ever made replicas EXCEPT for an unauthorized prototype reproduction of Micawber which Keith nixed because he refuses to have a signature model.

So I think you're inferring facts that aren't there and filling in the blanks yourself.

There's the video out there of Johnny Starbuck showing off all of Keith's guitars on the road and they are all the real thing.

We are not talking about the New Jersey guy here....

"Micawber appears in every show on songs like Brown Sugar and Honky Tonk Women."
