I got an offer for a grey USA Telecaster with a white Pickguard and silver hardware.

There is a rolling stones sticker (And TDK) on the pickguard

The serial starts with E9xxxxx it seems to be from 1990

Does anybody know something about this tele? I can not find infos in google....is it maybe a limited series?

What price is it?

Thanks a lot for some hints

Maybe some picture helps:

The 'E' indicates that this is an Export Guitar.

I remember seeing one of these, just cannot remember where.

Have no idea of the value.

cheers!

I believe you're thinking of those "EE" guitars from around that same time. An "E9xxxxx" would indicate that it was a circa 1989-90 guitar ("E9" decals were probably used from mid-1989 through mid-1990).

I'll be honest and say that I just don't recall these. Unfortunately it would older than Fender's Consumer Relations database so they wouldn't be able to look it up; that starts about 1993.

No, the "Beggars Banquet" Amazon.com guitar is not the same as the Rolling Stones Limited.

Trouble posting pictures?

Looks like a regular American Standard Telecaster with the Stones sticker stamped on the pickguard.

The FSR Tele you're talking about is shown on the picture posted by Bill.

TDK Germany sponsored the Stones tour back then and offered a few Teles with a sticker. Indeed, its a American Standard, nothing special. I was interested in one of these too and could see one in person at TDK, a bit disappointing as it is lightyears apart from Keith´s model...

Ok, so there is nothing special than the paintings on the pickguard.... Means to me it should cost not more than an American Standard...

Thanks a lot for your help

With the empty machine head potted to not rattle?

I doubt it will happen, because Fender normally require brand exclusivity, and I can see no way that Keef will give up playing all his non-Fender guitars.

Not necessarily.

There are Fender endorsees who also play other electrics.

Fender needs Keef's consentment for a signature model (though he plays Custom Shop replicas from his favorite axes since 1990).

If a Keith Richards signature guitar finally came into surface someday it would be either Malcolm or Micawber.

I seriously doubt that is true.
