I've never seen a real Fender Telecaster in that finish. The string trees look wrong, the wide dot spacing at the 12th fret is wrong for a US made guitar. And a recent Tele would have a microtilt adjustment on the neck.

Anyone can buy some Fender tuners and a neckplate and make a cheap guitar look like a Fender to the unsuspecting buyer.

You did not write about the right Tele .

My main concern with the second one is that it's butterscotch blonde with a rosewood fretboard, which were common a few years earlier, but not when the serial number says this was made. There were Squier teles with bsb/rosewood, but I have not seen any Fender teles from 2006-2007 with that combination. That doesn't mean there isn't one, though - asking Fender customer relations to check the serial and describe the guitar matching it would be my recommendation.

I think the second one might be vintage white, not butterscotch blonde as it's not see-through. I did take a quick look at the 2006 Fender Frontline (online version under the "Support" tab) and vintage white was a color for the American Series Tele in 2006.

So, that would be a definite "yes" then!

Thank you for your time and effort, gentlemen. I will contact the guy and go ahead with the purchase most probably.

Thanks again!

Very true. Screens vary quite a lot, and what looks one color on one monitor might look different on another. It's even more difficult with colors like candy cola and tangerine, which don't look anywhere as good on a picture as in real life.
So forget my butterscotch blonde comment; vintage white it is. And a nice guitar, it seems.

I just called the guy....somebody already snatched the guitar. :(

It was too good of an offer, and I waited too long.

Sure it all the same , when it is a good deal you have to pickup right now .

I read that too many time on furum for guitar and amps.

You have to learn by yourself how to know a real and good guitar .

You're right. It just seems that there are so many models and modifications to each new series of guitars that it's really hard to keep track of all the little things being changed (saddles, tuning machines, wood, finish, color, etc.), while the market is literally flooded with Chinese replicas and sellers-frauds.

I need to get some sort of a book where it's all explained and shown in photographs, if such thing exists...and carry it every time I want to see a certain guitar. :-)
