Hi everyone!
I have an opportunity to buy tele. But I'm confused with some details...
1 - "made in usa" is on the back of the headstock
2 - a plate on the back hasn't "corona califrnia" inscription and a hole for neck setting

Could anyone define is it real usa tele?
Here's some pics

No - it's a fake. As you say many things wrong with this one, such as the truss rod plug, type of tuners, bridge, decal fonts, string trees, neck plate.

I would stay away unless it's both dirt cheap and a great player.

It may definitely be a Fake/pieced-together Fender... but how does it play/sound?

If it plays good and sounds good, the only arguement left is how much you're willing to pay for it.

Cheers!

Best is to invest one time on a real and good Telecaster.

... and whether you feel good about encouraging people to sell obvious fakes and whether you'll really enjoy playing a fake.

Hey guys!

I noticed this thread and would appreciate your help on a similar matter. A guy is selling this tele relatively cheap. I was wondering if it is fake or real.

I hope the link works.

Thanks in advance.

@stratele52

Actually, when you click on the link and the window opens, there are four more photos on the far right, where you can clik on each individual one for it to enlarge. Would you mind doing that? Thanks.

+1 marko.novi

This serial number say ;

Your guitar was made at the
Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 2006 - 2007

http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx

To me with all these photos it is a real very nice Fender guitar

I've never seen a real Fender Telecaster in that finish. The string trees look wrong, the wide dot spacing at the 12th fret is wrong for a US made guitar. And a recent Tele would have a microtilt adjustment on the neck.

Anyone can buy some Fender tuners and a neckplate and make a cheap guitar look like a Fender to the unsuspecting buyer.

Huh? Are you commenting on the bottom Tele, or still on the top one? Cause the bottom one is in a pretty standard butterscotch blonde finish, has the right string tree for an American Standard, the right dot spacing as far as I can tell, and has a microtilt adjustment. Or at least a hole in the plate for it.

My main concern with the second one is that it's butterscotch blonde with a rosewood fretboard, which were common a few years earlier, but not when the serial number says this was made. There were Squier teles with bsb/rosewood, but I have not seen any Fender teles from 2006-2007 with that combination. That doesn't mean there isn't one, though - asking Fender customer relations to check the serial and describe the guitar matching it would be my recommendation.

The rosewood fingerboard is what puzzled me. Thanks for your replies, guys. I'll contact the Fender customer service as well, look for the final verdict.

if it plays good (but only if you'e experienced enuff to dtermine this),,, string action good , neck straight AND is cheap enuff keep it...

BUT,,,, on the other hand,,,, real tele's are plentiful so u can surely find a great deal on one that has no ques. about its pedigree but it and be done...

take it to a reputable guitar store and they cud probably tell u is its real????

aloha
