I recently attempted to upgrade my Squier Classic Vibe's 3 saddle bridge with the 6 saddle 10.5mm "Dual-Load" tele bridge- Solid Steel Baseplate- Chrome offered on Guitar Fetish's website, based on their description of this bridge. It turns out that their idea of "a great 'Problem Solver' bridge" created more problems, for me at least, than it solved. Their product description states,"I doubt there's a weirdo tele body that this bridge CAN'T work on!!", and further on, "The pickup cavity might not line up with every body out there- but that should be a very easy fix- The bottom hole for the pickup is exactly 2" from the bottom edge of the plate."

I tried mounting this bridge on my guitar, drilling holes in front of the original's mounting holes, and the through-body stringing holes on the GF bridge didn't line up w/ the existing stringing holes, and the secondary stringing holes on this bridge made the scale about 1/2" longer, making my guitar impossible to tune properly. The only way it would fit the existing stringing holes would have been to reroute the bridge pickup cavity, which I don't have the tools to do right, and don't want to butcher up my axe, even if I had the tools. Maybe I'm just too dense, but to me, there is no "easy fix" for this bridge, at least on my guitar.

The point is, that Guitar Fetish is unwilling to rewrite this product description (and I've argued with them for weeks about this) makes me question every other product that's offered on their website; perhaps you should too, before you buy anything from them.

Did you measure 25.5 inches from the nut to determine where the bridge should be located or did you just line up the pickup cavity with the cutout and assume that was the right placement? If you need to drill holes to mount a replacement bridge then you have bought the wrong bridge. Personally I would never drill new mounting holes in a guitar, you'll weaken the wood and that can cause all kinds of problems.

The Guitar Fetish site says "the pickup cavity might not line up with every body out there - but that should be a very easy fix" - this would suggest to me that you would need to rout the pickup cavity rather than drill mounting holes. That bridge also has extremely long intonation adjustment screws to allow accurate adjustment pretty much wherever the bridge is located.

I bought a Wilkinson Compensated Bridge for my MIM from Guitar Fetish and had a great experience.

Shipping was prompt, website was easy to navigate, the product was as described.

And, despite the disclaimer on their website that things might not line up exactly and may need tweaking, in my case, everything lined up perfectly.

I would not hesitate to patronize them again.

cheers!

OP appears to have disappeared from the forum but reading the post again I think I see what the problem is here ...

Those holes don't determine the scale length. The position of the saddles determines the scale length. As I mentioned, the Guitar Fetish bridge has the longest intonation adjustment screws I've ever seen on a bridge. Line up the mounting holes - NOT necessarily the string holes - like it says in the description, rout the pickup cavity if needed and load the strings either top or bottom and set the intonation.

That GFS bridge worked perfectly on my '94 MIM toploader project. GFS gives plenty of info on the site including EXACT dimensions. The OP needs to buy a ruler. I've bought a ton of stuff from GFS and have always been a satisfied customer. The pickups in that guitar were also from GFS and they sound killer by the way. Now someone tell me why I sold that guitar  .
