Stopped by my local shop today to see if they had any "new" Telecasters in stock, and the owner busted out one that was fresh in on trade. Here's what I was able to discern in my 5 minutes of inspection/playing:

1. Appears to be a 2005 American Series in Sunburst.
2. Rosewood fretboard and the neck looks to be slightly tinted (not pale white) ~ maybe just aging over the past 8-9 years.
2. Has a N5 Serial Number ~ but serial number printing itself us oriented towards the far outer end on the back of the headstock ~ every 2005 Tele I've seen has the serial mid-way on the back on the headstock.
3. Has the typical American 6-saddle bridge with 3-screw plate.
4. Has n Fender neck plate with the micro-tilt hole, but it does not say Corona on it.

I'm just hoping someone hear can give some more info. Any help/info is greatly appreciated!

Well... I know now that it's a 1995. Not a 2005.

I also now realize that it is probably not a one piece body but a laminate top and bottom. we're getting somewhere slowly but surely.

You can email Fender Customer Relations at consumerrelations@fender.com with the serial number of the guitar and they usually get back to you within a day or two with the details they have of the guitar on their database.

I hope that helps.

Hope that helps!!

The 2005 American Series Telecaster does have a maple neck with smoother edges along the fretboard and more detailed nut/fret work. Also, the body is made from select solid non-veneered alder or ash with a sharp '52 body radius. Additionally, this guitar sports a DeltaTone pickup system with alnico 5 single coil pickups and a no-load tone circuit.

The older American Standards lack off those features.
