I'm getting to the end of my rope with this thing. The output jack on my MIM 2002 Nashville Power Tele makes loud bang noises through the amp. Through my big Marshall rig it sounds like an A-Bomb went off. Happens when you move it.

Have had 2 techs work on it, one replaced the jack, still does it, checked the wiring and re-soldered the wires. Moved the wires while plugged in, no noise, move the jack crazy loud again. Have tried using TRS cable to no avail.

anyone had this problem? know a workaround? can i use a regular jack and still mix the acoustic and regular pups? I don't need to split it to 2 amps i just want the mix.

Any help? Thanks!

Bad ground wiring, poor shielding of the cavities and improper soldering of the wires are the most common causes.

Personally I would use two separate sources for each pickup.

It's strongly recommended to use the piezo with a PA console or an acoustic guitar amp.

You can use a regular jack and blend the piezo and regular pickups - I do it all the time, though as chromeface says, it does sound better when you use separate amps.

cheers,
Alex

Ok thanks for the info. (btw I did mean OUTPUT jack in my post sorry)
I decided to delve deep and took it all apart. I downloaded a wiring diagram and started tracing all the wiring. It seems some one bypassed the piezo in the past then re-connected it. Here lies the problem, without getting into too much detail, the wiring diagram I found said the black wire from the battery compartment goes to the body of one of the pots when it goes to the output jack now. Also it says that a YELLOW wire from the battery compartment goes to the output jack but I have no yellow wire coming from the battery compartment, I only have a red and a black straight off the battery.

Any one have a yellow wire in their battery compartment and if so what does it go to? (pic maybe)?

MIM Power Teles are passive.

Only the MIA Deluxes were shipped with the active electronics (pictured guitar is not mine).

So's mine and it has active electronics...perhaps we have special models
I checked my battery compartment and it has red and black wires as well...no yellow wire in sight.

Alex

Does anyone know a location for a downloadable manual for this guitar? I just picked up a Nashville Deluxe Power Tele used and need a manual. I wasn't able to locate one on Fender site. Please post a link?
