Well I'm home and so is my new Tele!

I've spent time setting her up and now she plays as sweet as all my other beasties wih my guage of strings, 9. 11. 16. 24. 42. 52 Elixirs.

I've also removed the stickers from the neck plate. Thanks Stevie!

Still lovin the bridge pickup and the grease-bucket tone pot wiring is sounding very interesting in a good way. Gig ready and I'm all ready to try it out properly on Saturday.

....more info garnered;

Pickup ratings

Neck: 7.39

Bridge: 6.32

Strange I know but they sound balanced!

Oh and on a side note I just replaced the mini pot in a friends bass and all mini pots are, what's the technical term? Cr*p. Had to be a mini pot unfortunately as a full size pot won't fit in the space. Brand new and it still crackles slightly.

How's the guitar's weight and neck/body balance when standing? :?:

Not bad although it is definitely neck heavy. No issue for me really as I always use thick suede straps. I reckon its because of the chunky neck which is a joy to play.

On my more accurate scales here it's actually 8.2 lbs (not 9 like I originally thought).

I thought I'd check in after gigging my Tele for the first time tonight. I only used it for our first two songs as it was apparent that the pickups were set too low and I wasn't getting enough output with my normal amp settings. A such I switched to my Strat.

But.... It was a joy to play, I'm well happy with my initial setup re string height etc and it is extremely comfortable with the neck balance issue not noticeable in a gigging scenario.

All in, a great first outing and I'm ready to start fine tuning her to perfection! :wink:
