Good idea to get a tube amp. But any amp you can gig with will be too loud for a home use . Anything more than 5 watts ( tube) is to loud in a home.

Wich tube amp ? Best is to test them at a store and make your choice , three different beast the amps you name.

Tiny Terror works well.
You may want to turn down the volume on the guitar, and use a lowpass pedal to reduce noise.

How 'loud' you are at home is entirely dependent on whether or not you can play. Assuming you are otherwise accepted in the community and there are no extreme assholes living around you ... and assuming you keep fairly normal hours .... the neighbours will put up with a TON more volume if you can actually play than they will if you're a fledgling. Your choice of music will also be a factor in how much your neighbours complain. If your music is beautiful to their ears they'll ask you to turn it up, not down. If they hate it they won't want to hear a single note .... ever.

Not sure what your budget is but a Silverface 70s Champ or Ampeg Jet-12 would be cool.

I like Blackstar amps. I have a HT Club 40, and love the tones that I can get with my Telecaster. For low wattage amps I really like the Vox AC4 amps.

You might consider the Fender Super Champ X2. Very nice tube tone at home practice volumes with the added versatility of DSP amp models and onboard effects. As you are currently a Mustang owner, try to imagine the limitless sound possibilities of 16 amp models and 15 effect combinations (even more when connected to Fuse), with the tonal warmth and exceptional pick response of a tube output section. You may want to upgrade the stock 10" speaker though, as it is the weak link in an otherwise impressive value. Cheers!

Hot Rod Deluxe will be too loud, or you will have to run it so low you won't get quality tone. I have one. A Super Sonic 22 is an obvious good choice but expensive. If I had a choice, I would look for an old 70s Champ. I just use a solid state amp for what little I pick at the house. Looking to maybe get a Mustang II for that same purpose, but not tubes.

Guitar player had an article on very small tube amps a year ago: http://www.guitarplayer.com/article/rou ... mps/148843 . Some are head only, making them more affordable if you have a spare single cab around.

Any tube amp can be too loud. Even a small 5 watt like the Champion 600 or Blackstar HT-5 can get loud enough to annoy the neighbors. But having said that I think the Princeton is a great option for a bedroom amp that can be miked to play larger venues. I've had the HRD and it is a good amp but IMHO the Blues Deluxe with a good distortion box is a better choice. The Deluxe Reverb with a distortion box is also a good choice if you can find a used one. New they're a bit pricey.

I'm a big fan of the Peavey Delta Blues Amp. It's good volume control, doesn't way a ton and is good for home and club.

I also like a mic-ed Blues Junior.

+1 !

I love my PDB !

Also like my Bugera V5 for Home/Practice. Hand-made, 5W Tube w/ 2-way attenuation - 5W, 1W, 0.1W, headphone jack, reverb, vintage style. And, it can handle up to a 4X12 Cab. Lots of Bang for <$150.

cheers!
