The Stratocaster Chronicles by Tom Wheeler with a forward by Eric Clapton is pretty much the Bible of Stratocasters. Published by Hal Leonard Corp.

The companion book (about amps) is called The Soul Of Tone also by Tom Wheeler with a forward by Keith Richards. Same publisher.

I don't think Tom ever wrote one about the Tele. If he did I never saw it.

I have both of them and they are excellent, if a little unwieldy.

Also worth a look are 'The Fender Book' by Bacon and Day and 'The Interactive Fender Bible'. Both are a little out of date now but still full of useful info and pics.

Just for the record there is a new Telecaster book just out: http://www.printsasia.co.uk/book/the-fender-telecaster-the-life-and-times-of-the-electric-guitar-that-changed-the-world-0760341389-9780760341384?utm_source=ukgooglebook&utm_medium=opf&utm_campaign=feed&gclid=CJ7WrrG8rboCFZIPtAodTmwA-Q

Well, since you've posted in the Tele forum area, I'd highly recommend 'Six Decades of the Fender Telecaster".

This one:
http://www.amazon.com/Six-Decades-Fende ... 0879308567

That's a really tightly packed book that one Mike, excellent all the way through. The Mrs got me that last Christmas, one of the best I've seen on tele's. The one in Freako's post is a good'un too.

The Guitar Handbook by Ralph Denyer is pretty good too.

If you can find all of the Fender Frontlines, you'll have a lot
of good info and even more guitar porn to ogle at. :D

Some good suggestions here, I would also add Fender: The Inside Story by Forrest White.

As for Tony Bacon--yeah some good books, I own his book, The Fender Electric Guitar Book: A Complete History of Fender Instruments. It's got some good stuff as well.

If you want a good book that covers all Fender guitars, not just one model, then I'd recommend the one by Richard Smith. Fender : The Sound Heard Round the World
