First off, I have to say that my Thinline Cabronita has quickly become my favorite guitar since buying it a few weeks ago. I am just amazed at how versatile it is.

I really love the Fideli'tron pickups. One of the most sensitive pickup's to pick attack and volume knob, I've ever played. Articulate, smooth, edgy, growl, twangy, loud....it seems that anything is possible.

Finally my question: Where are these made?

This has come up on a few other forums I frequent, and know one has an answer. I pulled the neck one out while doing a string change to look at the back. I saw stickers poking out from under the foam spacer. I didn't try to pull it off, as it seams stuck on well and I didn't want to damage it. Anyway, no obvious markings that I could see that would point to the country of origin.

Will it make any difference where it was made? For me, not one bit. I'm just curious and want to know. And am hoping that these pickups will be available for purchase at some point.

As far as I can tell, it says made from USA components, but doesn't say where:

The guitar itself is made in Mexico I believe.

Hi, those Filtertron style are American made TV Jones.

The Fideli'Tron pickups are A Fender or FMIC product, not made in the US. From some searching, I think I have my answer. The Fideli'trons are designed in house by FMIC to mimic the Filtertron style and are possibly manufactured by a Korean company that manufactures pickups and guitar electronics for many other companies that use import parts.

My interest in the Cab Fideli'trons are mainly due to the fact that I would like to purchase them...possibly...for another guitar I have. So far other than an Ebay guitar chop shop, I have not been able to find them for sale. But I see that Fender is building upon its body/necks/parts inventory for retail sale, so maybe they will have them in the near future.

If not, then TV Jones will be my next step.

Yeah, the TV Jones are quite pricey...I guess it all depends how far you want to go.

Good luck!

Fidelitrons are made by BHK in [edit: Korea]. They also make pickups for many other makers.

You can read more about the Fidelitrons from the man that helped design them (Joe Carducci) in post 5:
http://gretschpages.com/forum/modern-gr ... 937/page1/

FWIW I love the Fidelitrons that I tried in a Coronado and plan to try a set in my Gretsch 6120DC. They have a ton of clarity almost like a fat tele pickup.

[edit]
I think Korea is correct. The pickups are stamped "BH" which stands for Booheung Precision Machining, a Korean company who make all sorts of things. The pickups usually have stickers and I think BHK is Booheung, made in Korea, and BHC is made in China.

I've got a couple humbuckers I want to try out in a tele one at a time while leaving the standard bridge single coil.
One Lollar and one Seymor Duncan JB.
I bought two extra pickguards made for humbuckers that I plan on using an 1/8" plug to attach/remove.
The only thing I now need is a used tele Am Std at a decent price to experiment with.
I have a couple nice tele's I do not want to mess with.
I really like the Filtertrons in my older Gretsch's ('65 & '67)
