Just about to pull the trigger on a Telebration Mahogany, is there a list of the numbers made of each of the Telebration models? Apologies if it has already been mentioned, I just couldn't see it.

If memory serves the "Telebrations" were 500 piece run of each one with a couple of exceptions. The Old Pine originally to be called the Indiana Barn was to be limited to 300 and I think so was the Lamboo was also to be shorter run but not sure for certain.

The Old Pine, Old Growth Redwood were both to be made from reclaimed wood (Indiana Barn Tele and Browns Canyon Tele) but when it came to it the supply of wood for each was not up to scratch for the entire run and they had to source other supplies of age appropriate wood and thus the names were changed.

This is a trap many people fall into.

The Telecaster celebrated it's official 60th Anniversay in 2011.

Beginning sometime in late 2010 through mid-2012, Fender put a commemorative 60th Anniversary neckplate on every Telecaster produced. Retailers may have marketed the guitar as 'Limited' simply because of this. But, other than this neckplate, there's nothing 'special' compared with the same model from other years.

Thank your for your detailed answer.

I knew for the commemorative neckplate on all models produced in 2011 and for Telebrations series but mine has a special blond finish with nitro lacquer instead of polyurethane. I guessed it was limited to 2011 and I'm pretty sure it is because this model doesn't exist anymore and didn't exist in 2010.

Look at the right one:

Image

What you have is the 2011 Limited Edition 60th Anniversary Telecaster in blackguard blonde. This was the official anniversary model built only in 2011, that is why its a limited edition . No details are available of the specific number build during the year. It is basically an american standard telecaster. The model number was 011-6112-768.

Nice tele!!!!!

That was exactly what I thought. Thx!

Cool !

The Old Pine Telebrations are really neat ! Where are the pics??

And, because the run was interupted at just 300 instruments, they're also some of the rarest Telebration Teles !

cheers![/quote]

Well here you go Lightnin MN....a pic of my Indiana Barn Tele....and have a great day

My Tele was bought with a few chips in it to begin with. How does this devalue my ax...
I have the empress wood honey burst.
I submitted letter to Fender and no reply. Then by text. Still no reply in regards to serial # and warranty..from the company yet on Honoring warrenty.. I found it on a rack in a music store priced at $1119.00.. Its super- light!
Any feed back folks.

The devaluation due to chips depends on the severity of them, their number and location. You got a nice price for a new one.

Conventional wisdom says that light guitars have less sustain and tone. That may generally be true, but with the empress wood (Paulownia), I've found this to be an exception.

The guitar has terrific tone and sustain, and I own both a Mahogany and Alder bodied Tele as well for comparison.

cheers!

That yellow 2011 telecaster standard above is one of the best production models Fender has ever put out. Light weight bodied ash, nitro finish. I've played many models before and after that year and this one was unique in tone. Really exceptional model for the price range.

I believe that the Telebration Hot Rod Vintage Deluxe was produced in larger numbers that the other Telebration Teles, and to my knowledge, the total number made was never released by Fender.
I believe that this "Telebration" Telecaster was considered an "in line" model in 2011.

All you wanted to know about the 60th Telebration Series. Is available from Fender Customer Relation with Fender. They will give you a letter of verification about your guitar being of the telebration series. and what if any other questions. Just send in with your letter.
There great people at Fender Customer Relations for such verification..
Besides the honey burst empress tele I picked up at a music store that was going out of business a couple of months ago. Was on a rack ( priced $1199.00), I got it for way less. Fender stated my discontinued Tele was worth $2,400.00. Plays so good though.
Hope this helps.. Fender made 500 ax's of each style telebration, ran short on the pine ones so only 300 of them..
Hope this helps ya..
Chris

Pics posting instructions: Nutter's Quick Start Guide

If your pics are on flickr, finding the pic address can be difficult, sorta like:
Quote:
you click the "more ways to share" button (arrow in a box), then the "Grab the HTML/BBCode", then choose the pic size you want, then choose the BBCode option, then do a little guessing which is the right one...
And finally when you have the address you need, you write your message here, click the IMG button and paste the address between the "][" in the "[img ][/ img]"

It's always a PIA to get real & final facts from Fender's FSR/Limited Edition models, so just IMHO:
I've found nothing to back up that 'made more than others' statement - IIRC the original announcement was 500 guitars max.
There was the "Telebration Vintage Hot Rod ’52 Telecaster" ("November" model) with a full size humbucker and special saddles, but at the same time there was the production line "Vintage Hot Rod ’52 Telecaster" with a minihumbucker and a "normal" bridge (no "Deluxe" in either). These can be easily confused, especially by wishful sellers on ebay.

You are right that I have nothing to back that statement up with.
You are also right on the difference between the two guitars.

Maybe my memory is failing me, but as I recall, there was never any production number stated for the "Telebration Vintage Hot Rod ’52 Telecaster" in any Fender advertisement or spec list for this guitar in 2011.
I believe that this was the only Telebration guitar that Fender did not specifically provide production numbers for, and it was the first Telebration Telecaster to be produced that year.
Therefore I make the "inference" that more than 500 guitars "may" have been produced.
If anyone can find a production number from Fender on the "Telebration Vintage Hot Rod ’52 Telecaster," I will gladly concede the issue.

This may be redundant.
1) Get a Photobucket account.
2) Upload a picture of your guitar to Photobucket.
3) Copy the "ING" link in Photobucket for the picture of your guitar.
4) Paste the "ING" Link in this Fender Lounge thread.

Hope this helps.

Hi

I am looking at purchasing a used Tele that claims to be a 60th Aniversary however I am not 100% convinced due to the following:

It doesn't have a 60th neck plate just a corona California one.

The serial number is Z6135764 which seems to indicate it's 2006.

Fender serial checker just states fender telecaster not even standard.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You could email the serial number to Fender consumer relations and ask them to send you the specs of the guitar at consumerrelations@fender.com

But the chances are if it hasn't got a 60th anniversary neck plat then it's not a 60th anniversary Tele.

My Telebration Tele has a serial number that starts with "US11" but I don't know about other Telebration models or about other 60th anniversary models. I hope some of that helps you.

Lotta confusion around anniversary guitars.
The true anniversary guitars are obvious with various confirmed details.
The fender company was founded in 1946 and its 60th birthday was 2006.
There was a 60th tele issued that year and is had a specific diamond anniversary neckplate.
That same year many strats and teles were issued with a small metal logo on the back of the neck saying 60th.
Because of this some people think they have a special anniversary guitar.
Limited this ….. limited that ….. a good marketing tool! :D
