Hello,

I own a wonderful Telecaster 60th Anniversary in blond finition from 2011. I wonder (and I look almost everywhere) how many copies of this model were built et how many were imported in Europa. There is some information about the production of the 60th fender's anniversary model (2006) but really nothing about the telecaster's anniversary one.

Does someone know "officialy" anything about that?

Best regards.

PS: The blond Telecaster 60th Anniversary (2011) was announced as "limited" ant that's why I'm asking that question...

This is a trap many people fall into.

The Telecaster celebrated it's official 60th Anniversay in 2011.

Beginning sometime in late 2010 through mid-2012, Fender put a commemorative 60th Anniversary neckplate on every Telecaster produced. Retailers may have marketed the guitar as 'Limited' simply because of this. But, other than this neckplate, there's nothing 'special' compared with the same model from other years.

But, Fender also produced a number of Limited Edition, or FSR (Factory Special Run) models called the 'Telebration Series', this series consisted of 12 USA-made models which were each distinct from other Telecasters and produced in limited runs of appox. 1,000 each. Within these runs, there was further rarity of color. IIRC, 2011 also marked the introduction of the Belly Cut Teles. The Telebration guitars use vintage Telecaster body shapes (no Belly Cut).

Different Woods, Pick-ups, Hardware, Bridges, Pickguards, all very unTelecaster-like were used.

The twelve 60th Anniversary Telebration Telecasters are:

1. Telebration Hot Rod Vintage Deluxe

2. Browns Canyon Redwood

3. Empress Telecaster

4. Telebration '75 Telecaster Natural

5. Light Rosewood Telecaster

6. Mahogany Telecaster

7. Lamboo Telecaster

8. Telebration '62 Telecaster

9. Telebration Cabronita Telecaster

10. Old Pine Telecaster

11. Telebration Modern Thinline

12. Flame Top Telecaster

I own a 60th Anniversary Telebration Empress Telecaster (#39/500) in Vintage White (Blonde), also 500 were produced in Honeyburst. It's distinctions are the use of Empress Wood (Paulownia) - very lightweight = 5lb.5oz., 'Hot Tele' Alnico III pickups. Plus it has modern tuners, 'C' Neck w/ Gloss Front/Satin Back Maple Fretboard w/ 22 Med. Jumbo frets, 9.5" radius, Bi-flex Truss Rod, Micro-tilt neck, 3-saddle Bridge, 9 ga. strings, Master Greasebucket Tone circuit, revised output jack (surface mounted). It's an amazing guitar.

Fender does make several models of Blonde Telecaster, but unless it's a 'Telebration' (check serial#), it's not really limited at all. Unless of course you count having the Anniversary Neckplate as limited.

Except for the distinct features, serial# and Hang Tag , these Telebration Telecasters have no unique identifier on them. But, they cost anywhere from $500-$1,000USD more than standard Telecasters.

The fact that you're even asking the question makes me suspect that you have a standard Telecaster w/ a 60th commemorative neckplate. Still a really great guitar, but not an FSR Telebration model.

My 2012 FSR Telebration Empress Telecaster (#39/500) :

The '75 Custom shared many features from the Jazz Bass of that era.

Thanks !! :D

I sent the serial number to Fender Consumer Relations and they sent back the Build Sheet on it. 8)

Did the same with my Am. Vtg. Ltd. Ed. FSR '57 Stratocaster (#26/46)

Image

These were MIA instruments, and the info was very detailed, incl. the Retailer the guitar was shipped to from the factory.

Sent them the serial # of my '99 MIM 'Nashville' Deluxe Telecaster and the info they returned was much less detailed, so maybe the database for MIA is greater than ROW guitars.

cheers!

Thank your for your detailed answer.

I knew for the commemorative neckplate on all models produced in 2011 and for Telebrations series but mine has a special blond finish with nitro lacquer instead of polyurethane. I guessed it was limited to 2011 and I'm pretty sure it is because this model doesn't exist anymore and didn't exist in 2010.

Look at the right one:

Yes I to have one of the "Telebration" models. In my case the Indiana Barn or Old Pine Telecaster. In my case number 17 of 300 produced. (they apparently ran out of stable pine to build any more (sic). Wonderful playing guitar with a whitewash oil finish that I really like.

That's a great looking Tele !

It may be a Telebration '75 Telecaster Natural. edit: Nope, the PG is wrong !

Or, it might just be an FSR produced in 2011 unrelated to the 60th Anniverssary, but still sporting the 60th commemorative neckplate.

I'd suggest emailing Fender Consumer Relations (consumerrelations@fender.com) w/ your serial #. In a few days, they'll return an email with all the info about this guitar.

When that happens, be sure to share it with us here !

cheers!

Cool !

The Old Pine Telebrations are really neat ! Where are the pics??

And, because the run was interupted at just 300 instruments, they're also some of the rarest Telebration Teles !

cheers!

What you have is the 2011 Limited Edition 60th Anniversary Telecaster in blackguard blonde. This was the official anniversary model built only in 2011, that is why its a limited edition . No details are available of the specific number build during the year. It is basically an american standard telecaster. The model number was 011-6112-768.

Nice tele!!!!!

Just about to pull the trigger on a Telebration Mahogany, is there a list of the numbers made of each of the Telebration models? Apologies if it has already been mentioned, I just couldn't see it.

No, there isn't a site posting such a list.

Just email Fender Consumer Relations (consumerrelations@fender.com), tell them what you bought, give them the serial number and ask for all information regarding this guitar. Response usually takes a few days.

Btw, I love the Mahogany Telebration... really nice sounding guitar !

cheers!
