I've really been into Gatton lately, I just read "Unfinished Business" and I'm getting into the recordings.

Of course, I'm lusting after a Gatton signature model, but I wonder if someone could enlighten me on the motive behind using Bill Lawrence pickups instead of Joe Barden's?

As I understand it, Barden was responsible for modding Danny's amps and his pickups.

Anyone know the story behind the change?

I'm not sure, but I have to say the newer Lawrence pickups sound great. I teched for a couple of guys who play them and they put the duncans and stock Gibson/Fender... you name it... to shame. Not to take anything away from Bardens, but I was thrilled to have the chance to hear something new that I was actually pleased with.
