First things first, im not a fanboy or anything like that, I just think this telecaster looks kickass and for the band im in would be idea.

Its not her signature model, although its clear her signature was based on this.

From all I can figure, its a modified (resprayed, telecaster neck, new bridge, routed for humbucker, output jack moved onto where the tone control was) esquire/telecaster.

EDIT: Working Link - http://i30.tinypic.com/oj189v.jpg

Lets keep this on the topic of the guitar too please ;)

Cheers!

Wow--she's playing a D chord!

But seriously folks...

You're sure right about that finish, like a matte black. And also right about the bridge and pup, but I never saw a bridge like that on a Tele. It looks like the plate is just cut to size--that it doesn't extend far enough to have a cutout for a pup. Also note how the pup appears to actually be longer than the plate is wide!

Did you check Fender's Custom Shop to see if there's anything like that beogn offered? Also, anything on any of her fan sites?

Yeah, nothing in the custom shop and her fan sites are full of 14 year old girls who dont know much about guitar im guessing, lol.

I emailed her session guitarist who I've talked too a couple of times before, always been useful, might drop fender artist relations an email as well if I can find one!

Yeah its a self modified guitar, in one of her video's she lifts it up and the original output jack is on the bottom.

So, if I wanted to make myself a nice single humbucker telecaster, how should I go about it?

My moneys on the Jim Root, new pickguard, new pickup (hate EMG's) etc...

Why don't you just get her signature guitar on Squier with all the features and mods you talk about?

Because the body's basswood for a start....

If it was mahogany, it would be a given, but yeah.

Jim Root Tele has the body, but if you want the traditional Tele/Esquire control plate look, thats not going to be an easy mod on the guitar....The volume knob is in the wrong spot and some routing would need to be done. Unless you are absolutely dead set on it being FENDER, I would say it'll be easier to build one with parts from Warmoth or somewhere like that.
