hey ajay do you own either the mim or the japan rosewood tele and are they decent guitars or not? Thanks Craig

Yes, I have both the MIM version and the most recent CIJ Rosewood, both of which are Rosewood Veneered bodies.

Yes, they are both decent guitars, as each are "high" end versions from Mexico and Japan respectively. :D

They aren't of course the same beasts as the Full Rosewoods, other than in appearance.

Obviously, that's a pretty subjective question...

The MIM's are cheaper... probably about US$500 or so, but they aren't that easy to find as they are out of production. Maybe the price will rise as a result of this fact.

The CIJ's are selling on eBay for about US$1,100 or more.

Yeah, thats a modified CIJ (not MIJ as they claim) and it look like a good deal.

Nice case, of course the mods actually detract from the value, but still a nice guitar!

If it stays low, go for it!!!!

Hi Mike,

You'll need to start an account at a photo sharing website like photobucket.com (that is the one I use don't worry, it's free). Then you have to upload your pics to that website. After that is done, copy the little bit of code that will link your picture and post that code here. You can use the URL link, or you can use the IMG link which will post the image directly into your post on the forum.

Hope that was helpful :)

Hello Mike E,

Sheeesh, what a fine looking guitar.
I'll wager it's a fine player too.
Best of look with it.

Cheers.

I picked up my Rosewood Tele ,With A Little Help From My Friends at Pittsburgh Guitars.in Pittsburgh, PA. Carl the owner ordered one for me when they first came available,He told me about the Rosewood Tele's after a visit to a NAMM show and I said sign me up I'll take one,I am so happy I've got one,the feel and sound are outstanding.it is truly a beautiful guitar.Any other musician that has seen it is just amazed by it.So don't be afraid, jump onboard and get one if you can,you won't regret it.

PEACE,
Mike

I own a 1969 Rosewood Telecaster. It is all original including the ashtray over the bridge pickup, and the Fender hardshell case. It has the solid rosewood neck with the maple stripe on the back. It also has the maple inlay around the body. I have not played this guitar much anymore as I have heard it may be quite valuable. It plays very well though. Great blues guitar. I have not seen one other than the reissues and now there is a special order model available for I think around $7,000. George Harrison played on and Jerry Garcia is shown with one on that vidio with Janice Joplin on that train concert to Canada.

Yes, your 1969 will be worth a considerable sum of money, probably about $20K, so don't let anyone trick you out of it for any less.

I also have a 1969 Rosewood, mine is about 98% original.
