First post here... need some help.

Bought a tele, listed as a 1989 Fender American Vintage '52 Reissue Telecaster. When I received it, I took it to my tech who pulled the neck. The body/heel joint is stamped with a date (January 21, 1999) and serial number (C 183XX), and the heel has a sticker has February 1999 stamped, a circle stamp with "JOSE L" and two names on it, one stamped and one written ("MINUM W" and "J ALVERENCE").

I assume it is not an American Vintage '52 reissue from 1989 (since it is dated 1999!). Trying to figure out what it is though.

Finish is not nitro, it is poly (tested). Bridge plate serial is 337XX.

Any thoughts? I have been through the dating posts, and I guess I get confused. C with 5 digits could mean "Collectors", but I think it is only to have a handwritten date to be an American Vintage Reissue '52 tele.

Thanks.
