 I know squier makes a fat strat, but i don't think it's any good. Is there anyway to modify an American tele to have a humbucker in the bridge? ( I don't want to have to cut up the guitar in the process.)

If the body route is only for single coils, and you don't want to modify the body, then you have to go this direction to get humbuckers:

You can look here, too.

I have a modern vintage HB set backordered for my Squire Standard Black & Chrome that should be here in a couple of weeks.

I've got a double fat squire tele and I love it, cool metal guitar and they can be found on ebay cheap.

I own a bunch of "normal" teles, this one does split coils, but it's better as a two humbucker guitar.
Mine's metallic blue, but I long for a red one.

The Seymour Duncan Little '59 is a great single coil sized pickup for the neck or bridge, but I'm pretty sure you should have enough routed from the body already, to throw a mini bucker in the neck position. This way you can add some "meat" to your tone while still keeping that tele tone. I just recently picked up a standard (mexican) tele body to do just that. I know they are already routed for the mini's so I wouldn't doubt it if the Americans were too. I have to admit I didn't come up with the idea myself. I based my design on the American Hotrod '52 tele.
