I just got a MPTP and its a lovely guitar. The pickups are very underwhelming - I knew I was probably going to swap them right off the bat. What are some pickups you think would work well?

I use a lot of gain fuzz so I want something good for that, for the bridge. For the neck and middle, I'd just like something that gets good fender tones. I used to use a Les Paul and love the fatness of the neck. Are there any neck tele style pickups that can be coil split? So to have the fat/bassness but also the stock tele sound when split?

You can also put Lace Sensor pickups on that guitar: Red/Red Dually for the bridge, Blue in the middle and a TN-100 in the neck. The best of both worlds (1st and 2nd generation USA Tele Pluses) in your fingertips!

Use the 3-way mini toggle to cut the inner and outer coils from the humbucker in positions 1 and 3 or get that full humbucking sound in position 2.

Does the bridge need to be F-Spaced?

Many great tones to choose from. I went on the high price side. I installed Joe Barden pickups. Danny Gatton on front, middle strat, rear spliting coil humbucker.
Now it is a hot rod guitar. Hope you enjoy the Modern player plus. It is a great guitar.
Oh' BTW change the pots too. I put 250k's. Wow what a difference.
Keep Jammin! Enjoy Life!

Danny no longer uses Bardens.

His signature Telecaster sports Bill Lawrence pickups.

Thanks! I'm doing more research on the LS and the Dimarzios.
I also took the middle pickup out.
