Hi to all

As the title, I together with my friend have changed the standard pickups Telecaster (MIM serial MZ) with Texas Special Custom Shop. After disassembled all the circuit, we have reproduced exactly this scheme (found inside the pickups box):

Image

All the welds of the circuit are correct and have no problems, as well as, the construction of the circuit in general. The capacitor is that found in the original circuit

Now, the Problem: The Pickup to neck is very low (almost absent) of volume.
The switch is 3-way. Position Bridge works well (very powerful), but middle and neck position no.
In the middle position is completely excluded the bridge pickup, while in the position of the neck, as already said, is almost absent.

Recap problem:

Position 1 Neck = does not work (very, very low volume)
Position 2 Neck/Bridge = does not work (very, very low volume and no PU bridge)
Position 3 bridge = works well
The volume and tone knobs work well (for all PU)

I have not posted photos, because the work is equal to the diagram and the work is carried out correctly.

Suggestions? Tips? Can you help me?

Thanks for any help :)

You THINK the work is like diagram , why it don't work ? Sorry you must be wrong ; bad wiring / cold solder on switch or defective switch

Photos will help

Forget that diagram, use this one:

Solder the yellow wire from the neck pickup to the back of the volume pot as well.

Probably you are right. Physically, the welds were made by my friend and I was there with him. Will post the photos soon ;)

Thanks for reply

I have already seen this diagram, and it seems "cleaner". Could you tell me because the original diagram not good?

Thanks for reply

The original diagram is incorrect.

Gentlemen, perhaps the problem is the Neck pickup... with the new circuit all is well, but it does not sound. I replaced it with the old pickup... result? It works great ...

Now I bought the piece in the U.S.A. (from Italy). Suggestions?
Is not the first object that I buy from this magnificent seller, but it is the first time that this happens... advice?

Contact the seller and tell them about the problem.
Good luck.

Updating the discussion: The pickup Neck is Dead... I do not understand how it has escaped the quality control..

Even, the yellow wire is scarcely detached from the base!! Bho..

Fortunately, the PU is under warranty! No problem with the seller :)

Once you get the pickup replaced, you should consider intonating the strings. Those bridge saddles are too straight across for the strings to be properly intonated.

Bluesky, You will not believe my words, but the guitar is properly intonated! To change the bridge pickup, I had to remove all the saddles and and when I reassembled the bridge saddle, I check each string at the 12th fret harmonic with respective fretted note using an electronic tuner. The string G was very difficult to intonated but I succeeded! :D
However, now is intonated better than before 8)

Sure your guitar do not have proper intonnation with those saddles straight . The use of standard tuner give most of the time wrong intonation . If you have a good ears and some experience and lots of time you can do a good job with standard tuner .

I use those tuner many years a go until bough the Peterson Stroboscopic Tuner .

Again, the guitar is in tune. In addition to the mechanical instrument, there is also my ear. Are more than 20 years of playing, and I can tell if something is wrong. It may seem strange but it is so. I tried and tried multiple times (I had your same doubt), but it is quite correct.

@Stratele : Thanks for your tip ;) I try to find Peterson Stroboscopic Tuner ( or similar) and check again the tuner

Thanks for your reply :)

I'm sorry, but the physical properties of the strings (diameter and tension) make it impossible for that guitar to be properly intonated.
