Hello, this is my first post, I purchased a Hot Rod Vintage 52' Tele. brand
new, about a month ago. Within the first week of owning the guitar I noticed that the front and back of the body, adjacent to the output jack, picked up static crackling when rubbed or touched. Now I've heard this Bounty sheet Theory with the pickguard but my pickguard doesn't have static, and I tried a bounty sheet with no results. Now my theory is that some wiring may not be shielded properly, or small sections of wiring were left exposed.( i don't Know)

Thank you for any suggestions

If you use a length of shielded (braided) cable to your input jack, I'd be willing to bet that problem will go away. Some Fender models use shielded wire, some don't. I had a little bit of a static problem on one of my Tele pickguards, and after applying some shielding tape to the underside, that problem went away. It's all about shielding.
