I just bought a '52 Tele and the case seems to be too short for the guitar. It is a American made case and it is beautiful but does not look like it was made for the Tele. The owner of the music store tried to call his Fender rep but did not get a reply as of yet. As it was the only '52 he had in stock, I bought it any way. Has any one else had this problem? What should I do?

Does the case say Fender on it? How does the case close and lock if it is too short for the guitar? :?

You can force the guitar in the case but when you do it puts a lot of pressure on the tuners. My fear is that it will apply too much pressure to the tuners and the neck. I will try calling Fender tomorrow and ask them about this. I thought someone here might have had the same experience or know a solution. I love the case and would like for it to work.

The case is a G&G case made in America. It is my understanding that is the company that made the original Fender cases.

I got a new G&G case recently and it is different from my older ones as the cushions top and bottom are thicker than normal. The guitar had to be forced into the case putting pressure on the neck and putting the high E tuner out. I had to remove the bottom cushion carefully, take out the polystyrene and cut the thickness down. The bottom cushion is glued to the case and can be removed. The covering material is glued and stapled. Not happy at having to do this though.

It seems is not the right one for your instrument.

I have a 52 reissue since 2004 with the Fender G & G "The Original Vintage case made in USA "

Evething is fine ; sure you don't have the right case . You have one for a shorter scale guitar

Any pictures ?

Thanks guys for the info. I talked to Fender Customer Service and they told me that it was the correct case for this guitar and after some use a pocket will form and hold the guitar snug without any movement. They said that it would have no effect on the neck or the tuners. I will give it a chance. It is a very nice case.

The case for my '52 hotrod is like the OP's. It is a very tight fit. Tight enough to move the E-string tuner. I think this is normal though. I've read the same comment on product reviews on retail sites about these cases. stratele52...your case is different. The pad at the headstock on mine goes all the way across to the compartment. Your's has a cut out. That's interesting.

I will post pictures as soon as I can figure out how to get them posted off my phone. After a couple of days in the case, the pocket has formed and the guitar stays tuned. I hate to deal with stuff like this. Fender says it is the correct case and it leaves me in doubt. If I were to send it back, they will send me the same thing as that is the new case (red interior) for the '52RI.
