I love mine, it's a pretty versatile axe, mine needed some work to get the intonation right, I swapped out the saddles for a set of graph techs and the neck needed some adjustment after a few weeks in my Canadian climate but once that was done I can't put it down. I've been playing strats for ever and previously had just bought an Ameican Deluxe, which plays like butter, but I play this tele all the time and it's not only gorgeous but after playing it for a few weeks I picked up my main axe, an older Amercan Standard Strat and thought I love this tele just as much and it's half the price I paid 20 years ago for my strat. I love the variety of tones available with the 3 different pickups and the maple neck is a beauty. I don't think you can find a better buy! :D

I bought one of the charcoal finished models of the Modern Player when they first came out and it's been a great guitar.

I like the solid pine body and I have always liked the tonal range of guitars with three pickups, that's one of the reasons I bought this guitar. I have also gone over to the Dark Side and I love humbuckers on my Fender guitars...

I have the honeyburst model. its a beautiful guitar, great range of sounds you can get out of it with the variety of pickups.
my only complaint was that the gloss finish on the neck felt too thick for me. other than that this guitar is awesome!

I just got a honey burst today for $250. The guy lightly sanded the neck and its fantastic. I had played one at Guitar Center and new that if I bought one I'd have to sand the neck cause its too glossy stock for my tastes.

:D Love mine as well! I tend to play the humbuckers more often. JB pickups. Very fine guitar at an affordable price. Great 1st or 2nd or more.

I have the same static issue on the pickguard if I'm playing a rythym part.
A temporary fix that worked for me to reduce but not totally
eliminate it was to rub a fresh sheet of bounce fabric softener over the area and pickups. Static almost gone but it came back after a few weeks, so you'll have to repeat the process, maybe keep a sheet in your guitar case, just in case.
