on Fender's website tele link for American Standard, http://www.fender.com/en-CA/guitars/tel ... elecaster/ , i see these color choices for rosewood fretboard & body colors: 3-color sunburst, black, jade pearl, natural, crimson red, mystic red, mystic blue

i saw at this link, http://www.fender.com/en-CA/support/color-chart/ a whole range of other colors and 2 in particular i like that are not included in the choices listed above.

if i want a color for the body of the tele listed on their color-chart page, do i need to order a "custom" build?

Yep, Custom Shop Masterbuilt.

You'll need to spend enough bucks as Custom Shop instruments (especially Masterbuilts) are extremely expensive.

Alternatively you can also refinish your guitar in the desired colour you like.

In this case you'll loose its warranty and value.

If you're unable to DIY, contact a professional luthier.

Is it really worth the extra $$?

in my financial position and current musicianship, no, it isn't worth the extra money. i'll just have to accept one of the body colors listed with the rosewood fingerboard. guess fender has to keep their costs down by not allowing too many body colors.

thx

appreciate the info and input. but that is out of my league and DIY motivation on a new guitar that will already stretch my particular budget. though we have a few great luthiers here in town.

i'll just decide on a color choice available and leave it at that. maybe black or that funky red, beats me

thanks
