Haha... i love the idea of using highly flammable or corrosive solutions on your pride and joy...
(unless you are Jimi!!!!)

+1 on Pledge...

though ATM Im using Dunlop lemon oil on the fretboard, and some Gibson guitar polish(or Pledge repackaged  ) that came as case candy.

Like others have said, yes you can use whatever you want but lets not destroy perfectly good instruments by cleaning 'em!!!!!. If thats your deal.... stick the thing through a wall of amps and then throw what remains of it into the audience...
Maybe its worth spending the 10 bucks....

If your gonna do it......

OK guys, I'm going to take your advise and buy some Pledge and give it a try. I remember years ago people saying don't even use the stuff on inexpensive furniture, but I've learned a lot from the people on this site so here goes. Should I send you the guitar if it really messes it up?

Lol..... ill take a free guitar thats been 'messed up' by pledge any day of the week!!!!

Thats funny about not using it on furniture though!!!! My Granny used to swear by it!!! Haha
(before i kept nicking it to clean my guitar!)

But dont forget... you could buy some guitar polish from your local music store for around the same price if it worries you. Fender, Dunlop Gibson, Martin ect.... are all great too....
Added value of peace of mind = priceless

But seriously fella, its fine....
